Erlan Mukhtar
- Erlan Mukhtar is a Kazakh stand-up comedian who raises social and political issues in his performances. In 2025, he released his concert Kazakhstan – The Best Country in the World with the symbolic inscription Satire is not a crime on the cover. In his performance, Yerlan speaks with irony and pain about things that every Kazakhstani understands: how the Minister of Health can become the Minister of Economy in a single day, about holidays on credit, the rise in suicides, the high cost of domestic tourism, problems with the judicial system, and internet blocking. The concert received a huge public response – 127,000 views and 690 comments on YouTube, as well as over 160,000 views on Instagram. The author shows how humour can be a tool for reflecting on the problems and state of society.
