Nominees: young activists up to the age of 35

“Person and initiative of the year” Award talks about the contribution of young kazakh activists in the development of democratic processes. This occurs in various spheres - human rights, media, art, ecology, city infrastructure. Some of them are already known to a larger audience, while others are just starting their journey.

The award offers two nominations, with four categories in each:

“Person of the year”: “Activism”, “Activism: regions”, “Women’s rights”, “Journalists and bloggers”

“Initiative of the year”: “Ecology and Urbanism”, “Media”, “Human rights”, “Art-activism”

Since 2022, we have introduced another special category: “Special contribution” – here we invite you to vote for our fellow citizens, who are not necessarily included in the target audience of the award but have done a worthy job.

According to the Concept of the Award, winners of last year cannot be nominated this year. This is done in order to give new projects an opportunity to make themselves known. Voting takes place yearly from November to December. You can familiarize yourself with the project here.
