Elena Bilokon
- Elena Bilokon is the head of the My Home Foundation and a crisis centre with a shelter in Almaty that takes in women with HIV, drug users and those who have been released from prison – people who are often rejected by other institutions. There are currently nine women in the shelter. The shelter operates in rented premises and has moved thirteen times this year. Despite constant pressure and relocation, Elena continues to run the centre, providing women with a safe haven and support. The centre operates with minimal support from the state and foreign donors, remaining one of the few places where vulnerable women can get help and a chance at recovery.
